Scholarships options

The American Scandinavian Foundation of Santa Barbara (ASFSB) is pleased to offer two types of scholarships to local students entering or enrolled in college. Click on the titles below for details.

Financial assistance ($3000) for students who have a family tie to Scandinavia or who may be interested in studying an aspect of Scandinavian culture (art, architecture, novel justice systems, environmental policies and projects, history, cuisine, etc.). The scholarship is administered by the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, and paid directly to the appropriate school to cover the cost of tuition and fees. Deadline: February 19, 2025. Provides a $3000 stipend for students interested in learning first-hand about Scandinavia, typically by enrolling in a summer school program in one of the five Scandinavian countries. Click the heading above (2. The Scandinavian Summer Scholarship) for more information.
